Forget Surprises

Plan for your anniversaries together!

Thats what we did =P

Started with Msn chats

MaS says:

since it is our 3rd anniversary ... lets splurge a little

The Tea says:

yeah close both eyes

Then we had a nice stroll along the Yarra River , looking for a nice restaurant to dine in.

Fun looking at the menus of ALL the restaurants.

Great to ignore prices for once.

=) ;)

The weather was wonderful today, not too cold, nor too hot

Spring's here! Early this year

Thursday Night Poker

I only realized i didn't have my camera when i almost got there at the Frankston Football Club. Nonetheless, we were late and everyone was seated so i wouldn't have been able to take photos anywayz.

AN asked me if i brought my poker membership card. I was like "Of course, it already has a place in my wallet". Hahah

Unlike last week, where my table was full of local guys of all ages (i felt like i was thrown into a movie's poker game. I was so out of place), this week, my table had a very chatty lady. She kept the conversation going.

Unlike last week, i knew a lil' bit more about betting. =P Just played and played and played. Almost lost but i managed to win and get back in the game at least twice. =D The lady said my luck was unbelievable.

I was very engrossed in the game until suddenly AN said "You're going to get into the final 18! You're going to get points!".

Whoa! Woww, damn happy wei, this was the fifth time i EVER played poker in my life =D I looked around and saw that there were very few tables =D

In the end i got 15th place for this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

Which upgrades me from number 148 overall last week to number 94 overall this week! Heheeeeee =D =D

Stuck around to watch AN in the final 8. The 1st and 2nd places were women. They were really playing seriously and silently while AN was making all the noise. And when he lost everyone went "AWWWWWW" for him. He got third place again.

Won't be playing next Thursday cuz of Merdeka Eve celebration. Which also translates to E and my 3rd Year Anniversary together =)

Gonna write about my bluff next, just for remembrance.

U can skip reading that and congratulate me in the comments! Haha, just kidding, u dun have to.

I had pocket aces (the best pre-flop hand), i almost couldn't contain my happiness. I wanted to go all in (bet everything i had). Oh by the way, the game is free, u just bet chips.

But i reasoned with myself. If i went all in, people might suspect that i had a very good hand (aka very good cards). So i just called (bet the minimum to stay in the game). I don't exactly remember what was in the flop but i think there was an ace. So i had more than a pair ;)

In the next round of betting, i raised a little. My strategy was to encourage people into betting, so that when i won (man, was i THAT confident?) , when i won, i'd win a bigger pot of chips. Hehe.

Someone else raised, which was good for me. And i made a mistake by calling too quickly, even before the guy beside me decided whether to call or not. He folded. Damn, wasted some chips from him. But he was a nice person, helped me out a bit (got lots of chips cuz of his help). He got into the final table.

Its a pretty friendly game, i let both the people next to me see my cards once they folded. I also looked at their cards after i folded. The chatty lady was also doing the same.

I won that round. Everyone was shocked with my aces =)

Another incident was towards the end, i was down to almost no chips. All i wanted was to stay in the game for as long as i can, in hopes of someone else getting knocked out of one of the table and letting me have a better ranking.

I had a jack and a queen, i didn't know if i should call the bet, it was pretty high.

And then i suddenly realized that i had three cards (u just get two cards by the rules)! Wahaha, i was like "Wait, why do i have three cards?!" The third card was an ace! The guy next to me was like, keep this card (the ace) and throw out the jack! Wahaha.

But cannot la, that round was canceled. Deal again. Which was ok. Anything to slow things down would do just fine. This week i played till 10.30pm. Last week i was out by 9pm.

Can't wait for next next week! Or maybe if i can do enough studying, i could go for the Wednesday poker game...

Love My Life

Normally i find it stupid when people use statements like that in their blogs but thats what i'm feeling right now. Kinda... Happy.

Day after last post. Played poker! More on that after i get some pix. For now, check out my name in the Australian Poker League. I'm a member there! Wahaha, damn happie even though u gotta SCROLLLLL all the way to the bottom to see my name.

Check our number 31, its this blogger. And then check out number 7, Chinese name!

Day after that bought jeans for $15.00. Ecstatic! So cheap. Plus, i managed to fit into a size 8! Whahahaha, according to magazines, Australian size 6-8 is American size 0.

Day after that, i went for D's housewarming party. Like all parties i go to, i barely knew anyone. Yet it was a blast. Played poker with LF's friends. When i lost i became dealer! And when they left, just chatttttt with friends of friends. K, i want pix!

Day after that, spent time with Aunt and her family. GOOOOOOOOD food. Steamed fish, sweet and sour pork ribs, my beloved siew yoke (roast pork). Duck!!!

My 8year old cousin already has a hint of Aussie accent! She's been here for only 7 months. Showed me class pix, mostly locals. And she pointed out her friends, quite a lot of them. She has always been sociable.

Yesterday (Monday), i went to the gym! Buffed Bar (kinda like Bodypump rip-off) is always loads of fun for me!

And today (Tues) i cooked a western dinner, I love cooking! Weird. If i were to see this post one year ago, i wouldn't have believed it!!

Farewells

Exactly 6 months ago, i was suffering from food poisoning. Right before my flight to Aust! From then on it's been hectic. Never got the chance to post up these pix!

Little farewells with closer friends.

M, E and i went to One Utama for lunch. Just to catch up before leaving.

Decorations of a celebration i never got to celebrate this year.

Damn my hair was so straight.

My pre-university Biology laboratory group mates. Love them, all our nonsense to the weirdest counting the corn experiment to *confidential*.

Three of us together:

We meet up at least once a year every year. Won't be having another gathering till end of 2008 or beginning of 2009 cuz XY's in UK! =( Might meet YW if she's still here when i go over to Sydney this summer.

Quite a nice picture...

These 3 i hung out with a lot in The Foyer (my trademark place, as D calls it) in Sunway:

There is another guy in our group but he accompanied his girlfriend to Perth, so he missed my farewell! =( And there's another girl but that high achiever was doing an internship in Singapore!

Damn sad this meeting ended pre-maturely. Due to rain. And everyone was tired. There were promises of meeting up once more before i left but it didnt work out. Didn't even get a good group pic...

But this pic's funny. Cute D and i. We love eating and we love laughing! Miss her damn it.

Girl in the next pic, we met in Ausmat but never really spoken until after Ausmat. Became friends through blogging ya know!? =)

This was only the second time i hung out with her but we get along like we've known each other for ages. Her boyfriend is E's ex-school mate, he sorta introduced them, so they wanted to treat us to sinfully yummy dinner in return!

Oh yeah, i don't take pictures of food yeah? =P And damn my hair was so curly! Hahah

Another D and i in Sanctuary. Or Century? I think its Sanctuary. I love checking out the interior of clubs in KL. Niceee.

The three clubs i went to in Melbourne didn't please me. No intentions whatsoever of going clubbing anymore here, not even curious to see that new in club Seven or 7 here. This D is now in Clayton.

Next up, a picture with my closer school friends. One of them couldn't make it though.

MY and i get to sit cuz both of us are flying off to Aust (went to Mt Buller with her). Don't think i'd be seeing PL till... 2010! When i return to Msia, she'd fly here for 2 years!

Last but not least:

Is! Met up with her for a quick lunch after buying books to ship to Aust. Another person i won't see in a few years. She'd fly off to the States by the time i get home!

HOW CAN I NOT HAVE THE PICTURES OF MARCO'S PIZZA?! That's E and my farewell with the wonderful Victoria University girls and 2 guys!

They are originally E's friends but as his girlfriend, they more than welcomed me into their group, invited me to their movie outings, birthday parties and their Redang trip!

Hope their plans to visit Melb in summer works out! =)

If All Goes Damn Welll

If all goes damn well, which is unlikely (but what the hell, Pisces people like me need to daydream), i could maybe, possibly, go to the USA for a year next year.

Which city in the States should i pick and why???!

Or do u know any excellent uni or college there that offers a one year diploma or something in design?

Anyone interested, loves children, holds a driving license, currently in Australia, let me know. We could go for the information session together this Saturday.

J you are the first person that comes to mind! Why do u have to be in UK now?! =(

Crown Casino

In the ladies room, this lady asked if anyone has a Panadol.

I said"I think i do". I made it a point to carry them around cuz the last time i had a headache, E had to pay 5dollars to buy me a strip of Panadol. They only cost abt 3 dollars for 2 dozen?

She insisted on paying me for it. "Its PANADOL, no one has it", she said and pulled out 5bucks.

"You saved my life!", she declared.

She then swallowed them with ALCOHOL!

Stunned and speechless, I just stared at her, my mouth open slightly. Forced myself to NOT lecture her. I mean... whats the point, the pills are on the way down her esophagus...

"THANK you soooo much", she repeated.

I was like "No problem...". I just hope i didn't kill her by giving her pills to mix with alcohol...

Sue's life

Cold shower in winter. Not impossible. Not fun either.

Eating out three nights in a row. Bad on the budget.

Procrastination. A trait of average students... like me.

Baggy home wear long sleeved turtleneck. Shrunk. Three quarter sleeves now.

Shit. Thats what i'm in. Knee deep and rising

Stressed

Too many social activities, too many obligations, an assignment and a presentation coming up. Wished i blogged instead of watching License to Wed. Now Gwen would have to wait =(

Next time i'll let them watch whatever movie first and then if they say its good i'd CONSIDER watching.

Way back in May i applied to be a student ambassador for Monash Open Day. I thought i wouldn't get it but i put a lot of effort into my application cuz i was procrastinating coursework =P

Made my day to be one of the 20 students chosen! Hehe. But the open day wasn't much in Peninsula. Far less people than Monash Malaysia's.

Another difference was that in Malaysia, when u see a parent and a kid, u know its the kid u ask "What course are u interested in?". But here, i learnt, the parent might be the one interested in studying in Monash!!

Must not discriminate against age, u know? =P

Stood from 12pm till 3pm outdoors in the campus in winter! Kept warm by eating lots of FREE sausages. Monash provided us with beanies that we can keep =) and a really good (but not fashionable) vest for the day.

All we did was give directions to the physiotherapy/ education/ business/ psychology building. At the end of my shift came a pleasant surprise. An envelope accompanying with my certificate of participation.

Not the usual RM10 MPH voucher u get in Malaysia, even RM20 would have been generous back home. Monash Peninsula gave us AUD$50 Coles voucher! Yayyy!! A week's worth of groceries! =)

Not like i do groceries in Malaysia...

The Schmooze Award

The concert was great! Was supposed to blog about it when i got back last night but housemate, neighbour and 3 friends were going to watch License to Wed at 2 in the freaking morning!

I laughed a lot NOT because the movie was funny but cuz everyone looked so bored. The movie is such a waste of time! DON'T WATCH IT

Anyway.
