Who Knew I Could Cook?

The very basic ravioli bolognese...

However bolognaise is spelled. Out of a bottle. I have a thing for decorating dishes.

And i have been eating more tomatoes and carrots here. I NEVER eat carrots at home. By the time i go home i wouldn't need my specs, lots of vitamin A.

Looks better than it tastes...

Black pepper chicken and tomatoes and left over rice. Lunch.

Tastes better than it looks...

Tonight's dinner. that's E's chopsticks in the picture. Received a "Not bad" from him and silent eating. I loved my spicy fried honey chicken. (Marinated overnight procrastinating assignment... hehe)

Sambal chicken that doesn't look like sambal.

Killer hot but damn good. Housemates and i enjoyed it even though we had to run to the sink many many times to get glasses of water.

Tuesdays are known to be spicy food days... hehe

Black pepper prawns. Looks watery, so i added more black pepper sauce... turned out damn HOTTTTT

Last but not least...

Was wondering what to cook... and then HS picked up this Herald Sun newspaper pull-out on the train. Recipes inside the papers. I saw this and scanned through the ingredients and cooking time.

Simple ingredients, not time-consuming! And we finally get to use the rosemary that grows in the backyard. This is how it is supposed to look like:
I altered and adjusted the recipe a bit... and...

THIS! is what yours sincerely cooked up:

Damn proud of myself kay???? =D Beams, grins and smiles!

Looks and TASTES good okay? U wouldn't BELIEVE how sweet and juicy the baked apples are. The pork's slightly bland... mostly just its natural flavour, some pepper and salt but when eaten with the apples and rice... oh my gawddddddddd.

Housemates loved it! Finished everything that night. Except the salad lar. CT was too busy enjoying the pork 2 touch the salad.

Grins and smiles again!

Wow... I am so surprise you can eat healthy. Me didn't cook much good food unless I am on holiday. Sigh... About looking at the food doesn't look edible, don't worry. I have the same problem too especially when I make eggplants. It looks like shit. But it taste good. Hhahah... Strangely, some of Peter's family doesn't like eggplant but when Peter made the eggplant according to my recipe then voila, everybody likes it even though it looks like shit. Hhaha... As long the food is good is all that matters right?

Wow! Those look really yum! Good job :)

Haha...since I got here, I'm actually looking at blogs about cooking, simple recipes. Speshly the ones written by Asians in Europe or the US. They teach you how to cook Chinese food with limited ingredients and spices.

How do you make sambal? I want! Then can make nasi lemak :D

Adam, damn i shouldn't have told abt the food pyramid! Hahahaha. Shhhhhhhhhhhh, dun u tell anyone! Hahaha...

Sakurablossom, i tend to know care about what i eat when i cook... and i'm ALWAYS cooking. Thats why i am ALWAYS busy. Have to eat so many times a day!

Wow ur eggplant recipe that good? I dun eat eggplants... give me ur recipe and see if i'll eat eggplants =) But i havent seen any eggplants here in Aust so far....

Charlotte hahaha, taste is the most important! But i want my food 2 look good to show off... pictures can be kept! Hahaha, dunno what am i talking about

Joey! Hahah, yeah, thats what we need wei! i'm lucky Aust is a VERY multicultural country... can get almost anything anywhere.

Sambal's easy... but it never turns out like the deep red one. Just 5 cloves of garlics and one large onion. As much or as little chilli u want... (dried or fresh).

Chop up everything and blend it, or u can just let the onion be in slices, really depends on what u like. Just fry it la. Add sugar to taste... some salt... chili sauce...

The trick is to just keep tasting it while cooking till its good! Hahahah =P

What does ur cheh cheh in Aust cook?? I kinda need more recipes... she mind sharing???

Why do u have to wait till u move out to cook? And can't move out next semester instead of next year?

What u eat sounds nice though =)

Heyy, the pics/food do look good! Not bad, not bad. Next time when you come back, must cook for me k! Wanna try your cooking! :D

As for me, I'm damn lazy to cook at my place here in kl. I usually just eat biscuits or tuna sandwich for dinner! Instant noodles when I'm rajin! :P

Sue Lin said...

Hey Pam, Thanks! Sure thing, i'll cook 4 ya =)

Just sandwich or biscuits 4 dinner every night!? Not depressing meh? Assignment weekends with instant dinners here are really sad... makes me damn homesick. Why don't u go out and eat with friends for dinner? Quite affordable to eat out even every night there in Msia

Oh, I mean whenever I'm eating in. :) Most times I'll eat before I come home.
But sometimes I'm just not hungry or are lazy to eat!
