Oh My God, Pole Dance!
Love the way i started the one leg invert! It was the trick i struggled with terribly nine months ago! At the moment you can see me struggling with the handstand. In time i'll get there =)
Before the climb at the end, i was already out of breath! 100% focused and it was so rewarding seeing myself spin past the mirror. Concentrated hard on each trick and executed them step by step =)
Love my Princess and my Mermaid. So pretty! These are two tricks from Level 3 (Level 3 performance click Here). I've come a long way!
From another angle Can you spot me??
Big thank you to the four friends who came to watch me perform! =)

Performance Night
Just after three weeks of practice!
I'm the one with dark hair in the back
Messed up a couple of moves but overall impressed with myself =)
Most of my peers are obsessed with further education (post grad studies) and career progression. Promotions aren't the only achievements in life to me. Words cannot describe how awesome it feels each time this old dog learns new tricks =P
It's about time the common association of pole dance to strip clubs and nightclubs be discarded. It requires a lot of weight training and is like gymnastics. Hence, i have been uploading pix and videos of me.
Parents, both fathers and mothers of some of the local girls were there to support them! Can't imagine my father supporting me! Hahahah
Little shout to the one who helped me record the video. Thanks for showing up and supporting me =)

Animal Print
On the last class of each term at Pole, there will be a themed class and a photo session!
"The end of one thing is the beginning of another! Happy, sad, excited, sentimental and fulfilled all at the same time!", i wrote on my Facebook status update
One of the combos we do in the Level 3 Routine
14 seconds on the pole =) Leaves me out of breath!

Insane
Trying to make up for the classes i missed when on vacation is a killer!
Couple that with free workshops and my normal two days per week classes, i end up on the pole 5 times a week for the last two weeks! Plus the pole at my friend's house. Totally mad.
Been sleeping and eating like a complete pig when i'm not hanging off the pole like a monkey. Wore pants to work everyday this week because my legs are spotted - with bruises from the inner thighs all the way down to my ankles.
Insane! Loving it!

Pole at home
Not in my home unfortunately
PL and i took courses in different pole academies, so the stuff we learned varies. Exchanged experiences! Awesome workout!
The shoulder stand
Many students can't do the hand stand in Level 4, so they introduced the shoulder stand in Level 3 as training for the hand stand.
Level 3 is really intense. I can do the tricks individually but the dance routine is tough! There are two combos
1. Foxy + Tease + Lay Back Variation (holding onto the pole above ground for about 30 seconds)
2. Foxy + Mermaid + Princess (takes another 30seconds or so)
I struggle with combo 1 because it is hard to transition and grip the pole, combo 2 i manage but spin wayyy too fast! Hahah!
Doing the Princess with straight legs
I noticed a book titled Effortless Empire on PL's desk and we launched into an investment talk!! The accountant and the financial planner talking about interest rates after pole dancing? Women today =)

Pole Practice
Ready?
Get set
Go!
Get the leg grip right
Do the hand stand
Look !
No hands!
I'm flying!!!
And then . . .
BAM!
Haha, no, dont worry, i didnt fall
The above picture was from one of my other sequence shots
When i realised i got the grip wrong, i descend slowly. The camera, which i placed on timer took a shot of me that looks like i fell!
Mid step
Love this shot! I should have used the camera flash more. Turned out so well =) Give me a moment to praise myself: oooh my legs look so long, my waist looks so small - i must have tensed up so hard in preparation for the spin, most of all i love the expression on my face - serious dancer's face, so intensed and focused yet graceful and effortless
The Eye Candy spin

Surprised
Week 8 Hoop and Week 16 in Pole were fantastic!!!
Above: The Tease! The trick i had no problems with from the start of Level 2 =)
The Siren. I'm still struggling with this one. Supposed to straighten both arms and lean back but i havent been able to
And the trick that i didnt think i could do on week 16:
The Inside Leg Ballerina! Surprised myself =) =) Lots of room for improvement though. Take a look at how my teacher does it!
She's awesome!!! She promoted the studio in the Sexpo exhibition 3 days in a row, 8 hours of pole dancing each day. Thats insane!!!
In Hoop we didnt have a camwhore session, so back to the drawing board!
Tried the above move, also not expecting i could do it and whoaaaa, i did it! "Hello Abs, nice to meet you!". Its actually quite comfortable hanging upside down like that once u get your legs balanced: equal weight in front and at the back of the hoop!
The Waterfall next. I was so scared the first time !

1. You get into that position on the hoop, with both hands palm facing the back holding onto the pole beside your hips.
2. You lean forward, make sure you keep the bent leg bent, let gravity do the job and you end up like this

Hoop
I quit my job to join the circus!
Hahha, dont panic. I'm still loving my accounting day job. I've just stopped moonlighting at that chicken restaurant to make time for my new hobby! I havent had time to blog =( I didnt even have time to shop at all in October!Absolutely LOVE it! When i was a kid i always wanted to join gymnastics but father said its dangerous. So, sheltered Sue never got the chance =(
As a 25 year old adult, i'm glad that this wonderful modern world offers me pole dancing for fitness and aerial fitness! =) Some of the other girls are sooo intimidatingly flexible, strong and graceful but really, as an adult, i am able to focus on myself and leave my insecurities at the door
Tried a couple of casual classes, the first time (17/9/2011) i couldn't lift my body up into the hoop without help from the teacher. The second time (8/10/2011), i managed to get up on my own! But i did cheat a little and hurt my back a little...
Signed up for an 8 week course that begun this week =) =) So much fun! Warm up, some strength training which focuses on shoulders and upper body, followed by 20minutes of tricks where we did what is shown in the picture above, a bit of pilates and then stretch to cool down.
It just makes me so happy! I was surprised at how well i managed =) Managed to get up onto the hoop with either my right leg first or my left leg first! =) I'm surprised at how much control i had in my arms to dismount from the hoop (to avoid injury).
The previous 8 week pole dancing course i did really helped with fitness. A couple of friends asked if i lost weight and upon weighing myself, i've lost 2kilos! 3kg more to lose!

Fit Pole
To me, YOGA's BORING. Pole dancing's the way to go!
Thanks to a colleague who dragged me into something, which led me to re-meet she who invited me to go for classes at VivaVertical with other colleagues via Facebook (with the title of the message: There's nothing like a good stick between your thighs)
Prior to that i never hung out with them, but after a few classes together, these girls and i are pretty ok! =) Just went out in a group on Sat (and i introduced them to E =)
In October all my colleagues stopped the class =( I joined another class and met KS who was even more addicted to pole than me. She's a management consultant in a very reputable firm! She's also joining pole with her colleagues! Haha.
So, u see, don't label all women in collar shirts and pencil skirts boring k? =P
A few weeks after the above picture, i could finally let go
Horrid angle cuz my phone's on timer on the floor. I have another pic with me trying to look at the cam but this one is better cuz u can see all the pain in my face in the other pic! Hahah
Ignore my fat thighs and u can see the muscles in my right arm! I don't know how many of my t-shirts have become too tight at the arms... i'm turning into the Hulk! Noooo
But this she-Hulk can still smile so sweetly ok?
HAHAHAHA, perasan but i love this picture la, the lighting, my eyes, my smile and the angle casts the illusion of a really thin Sue Lin
